Description

The Aronson Center for International Studies Fall Speaker Series on Human Rights will be discussing climate refugees and the shortcomings of the international human rights framework to address displacement caused by climate change. Panelists will include:

  • Mariam Traore Chazalnoel, senior specialist on migration, environment, and climate change at the UN Migration Agency
  • Andrew Baldwin, associate professor of geography at Durham University in England
  • Saleemul Huq, director of the International Centre for Climate Change and Development

This event will be moderated by Naveeda Khan, associate professor of anthropology at Johns Hopkins University.

For students, registration through Hopkins Groups is strongly encouraged. Although it is not required, registration helps our group and Johns Hopkins track attendance. For other attendees and guests, registration is helpful but also not required. All International Studies Program/International Studies Leadership Council events are free and open to the public worldwide.
