David Michaels, author of Doubt Is Their Product: How Industry's Assault on Science Threatens Your Health (Oxford, 2008), will give a talk entitled "Protecting Public Health in the Face of Real and Manufactured Scientific Uncertainty" as part of the Department of Environmental Health and Engineering.

Michaels is also a professor of environmental and occupational health and epidemiology and former assistant secretary in the Occupation Safety and Health Administration.
