Description
Hosted by Johns Hopkins University's Homewood Recycling Office and Office of Sustainability student employees, Evenings with Environmentalists is a new, informal speaker series that addresses the impacts of important environmental issues.
In the first event, "Food for Thought," we will examine the environmental impacts of food and food insecurity. Speakers Raychel Santo, a Johns Hopkins alum and a senior research program coordinator at the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future, and Naadiya Hutchinson, a Johns Hopkins alum and health fellow for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and board member for the Black Yield Institute, will highlight the impacts of food production and consumption practices as well as issues of food access and insecurity in Baltimore. The event will illustrate the environmental, social, and health impacts of food within and beyond Baltimore.
