Description

Open source is one of the most successful enablers of global innovation. The Institute of Applied Open Source at Johns Hopkins proudly welcomes Sarah Novotny for a presentation and Q&A discussion on the art and science of open source community-driven software development, the creation of the Kubernetes community, and the union of people, processes, and technology that drives the digital economy.

Sarah Novotny has long been an open source champion in projects such as Kubernetes, NGINX, and MySQL. She is part of the Microsoft Azure Office of the CTO, sits on the Linux Foundation Board of Directors, previously led an open source strategy group at Google, and ran large-scale technology infrastructures before web-scale had a name.

This community talk will be presented on Zoom. All majors and disciplines in the JHU community are welcome. The Zoom link will be shared with all registrants in advance of the program.

The Institute of Applied Open Source is a partnership between the Sheridan Libraries Open Source Programs Office and the Department of Computer Science.
