Description

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, join the SAIS Student Diversity Coalition and the Latin American Studies Club for the latest installment of Diaspora Dialogues, focusing on the Latin American diaspora in the U.S. The event will shed light on the diverse makeup of this growing and politically powerful community as well as include individual perspectives on navigating personal and professional journeys as a Latino/a. The event will begin with a keynote presentation by Evelyn Pérez-Verdía followed by a panel of current SAIS students from the Latinx community.

Evelyn Pérez-Verdía is a cross-cultural strategist and the Florida statewide advisor for Latino issues. She is also the CEO of Transnational Relations, where she works with election offices, nonprofit organizations, and local, state, federal, and presidential campaigns.

Diaspora Dialogues is a SAIS Student Diversity Coalition series that illuminates the nuances of ethnicity, nationality, generational change, and the legacy of migration. While each event will focus on a different region, we strive to engage with our student body, sharing their experiences with the interplay of their heritage across sociocultural and political boundaries.
