Civic Sessions: Baltimore History and Social Justice
Description
Come discuss "Baltimore History and Social Justice" as part of the Center for Social Concern's Civic Sessions. This session will reflect on the historic relevance that Baltimore has had in within social justice movements, and the plights that the city currently faces, as it relates to social change.
Civic Sessions is designed to offer Johns Hopkins student participants the opportunity to learn about diverse theories of civic engagement. Students will explore their civic agency through multiple civic topics over the course of seven weeks with built-in reflection time for community building through Zoom breakout groups. Students are not required to attend each session but can pick and choose the sessions that are most interesting to them and their own civic journey.
Students will have two opportunities to participate: Once during the day and once in the evening. The sessions will be facilitated by Center for Social Concern staff and student leaders from Center for Social Concern programs.
