Join Durriya Meer and Counseling Center staff for a QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeping Training. Learn how to recognize the warning signs of suicide and how to intervene effectively to refer someone to help. Question, persuade, and refer are three simple steps everyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.
QPR is a suicide prevention program listed on SAMHSA's National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices.
Content warning:
- Participants will learn myths and facts about suicide.
- Participants will learn how to recognize signs and symptoms of a suicidal crisis.
- Through brief role plays, participants will learn how to talk with and offer support and care to the person experiencing a suicidal crisis.
