Critical Coping Drop-In Skills Group: Window of Tolerance
Description
In these times of uncertainty and stress, it's more important than ever to learn psychological tools for coping with the anxiety, trauma, and distress that's interfering with your daily life. This drop-in group offered by the Johns Hopkins Counseling Center provides weekly education and practice in a different skill each week, drawn from key components of trauma symptom management. These skills can assist with anxiety, mood, sleep disturbance, and trauma and promote general well-being.
This week, we will teach the Window of Tolerance and Mindful Gauge, two techniques to help you assess your level of stress and arousal in body and mind as well as ways to "dial down" your arousal level to function better in the moment.
