Critical Coping Drop-In Skills Group: Grounding
In these times of uncertainty and stress, it's more important than ever to learn psychological tools for coping with the anxiety, trauma, and distress that's interfering with your daily life. This drop-in group offered by the Johns Hopkins Counseling Center provides weekly education and practice in a different skill each week, drawn from key components of trauma symptom management. These skills can assist with anxiety, mood, sleep disturbance, and trauma and promote general well-being.
This week, we will be working on the skill of grounding, which teaches how to return focus to the present moment and reorient yourself when overwhelmed.
