Join Mara Karlin, SAIS professor and executive director of the Merrill Center for Strategic Studies, and Kent Calder, SAIS vice dean and director of the Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies, as they interview former CIA officer and scholar Jung H. Pak on her new book, Becoming Kim Jong Un: A Former CIA Officer's Insights into North Korea's Enigmatic Young Dictator. Her book is a groundbreaking account of the rise of Kim Jong Un.

Jung Pak is a former senior intelligence analyst on North Korea at the CIA and in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. She is currently the SK-Korea Foundation chair in Korea Studies at the Brookings Institution. Prior to her work in national security, Pak was a history professor in New York City.
