Description

This year's Voices of Color aims to invite faculty, staff, students, and alumnae to spend a night within community, centering ways that women of color can overcome barriers of division and focus on the strengths of unity and difference.

The theme of "Sisterhood and Solidarity" was chosen with recent social movements in mind that have been led and sustained by women such as Black Lives Matter, #MeToo, and the annual Women's March, and in light of the centennial commemoration of women's suffrage. When students with intersecting marginalized identities come together, it is our hope that they would strive for solidarity and support from one another, opposing patriarchal norms of divisive competition.
