Description
The last few years have seen a proliferation of "Africa" summits around the world. It is unclear, however, if these summits simply reinforce existing power and economic asymmetries between Africa and the rest of the world, or if they present a new opportunity for African development. Meanwhile, the continent has made a concerted effort to create a single market and integrate its 54 economies. W. Gyude Moore, a senior policy fellow at the Center for Global Development, will discuss what an Africa Summit that aligns with the continent's own goals would look like.
This event is in partnership with the School of Advanced International Studies African Studies program.
