Dr. Daniel S. Gianola, a professor of Materials at the University of California, Santa Barbara, will give a talk entitled "Order-Disorder-Property Relationships in Structural Materials: Guided by Randomness" for the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Dr. Gianola completed his M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Johns Hopkins. He will also give a lecture for the Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute on Nov. 15.
