National First-Generation College Student Celebration
Description
On Nov. 8, Johns Hopkins will join colleges and universities across the country to celebrate National First-Generation College Student Day. This is an important day to celebrate and recognize the presence and successes of first-generation students, faculty, and staff on college campuses.
Although the day is named for first-generation students, Johns Hopkins' celebration will also recognize limited-income students, who make up the Johns Hopkins First-Generation, Limited-Income (FLI) community. FLI students, as well as faculty and staff who were FLI, are invited to wear their I'M First, FLI Proud, or FLI Friend buttons, or t-shirts.
There will be free food, giveaways, photo booths, and more.
