Description

Dr. Jürgen Bosch, a research scientist at Case Western Reserve University in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Allergy/Immunology, will present his work on culturing P. vivax in a talk entitled, "Viva Vivax: Long-term Culturing of P. vivax in Human Red Cells" for the Johns Hopkins Malaria Research Institute. Dr. David Sullivan is the faculty host.

Plasmodium vivax is one of the deadliest malaria parasites. Culturing P. vivax in the lab to better investigate how to attack this parasite has been a challenge for researchers.
