Description

The HEMI/MICA Extreme Arts Program hosts an opening reception for Symmetry & Fracture, an interactive exhibition by Jenna Frye investigating the boundaries (or lack thereof) between art and science, with a reception. Jenna Frye is the HEMI/MICA 2018 artist in residence and a Maryland Institute College of Art professor.

Symmetry & Fracture offers a way to physically connect with the complex research ideas of HEMI labs through hands-on exploration of mineral crystal systems and the grain boundaries of metallic materials. You are invited to playfully investigate the installation on view at the Milton S. Eisenhower Library, and decide for yourself where or if boundaries lie between art and science.
