Description

Small island nations face significant challenges to their long-term sustainability and in many ways are a microcosm for the sustainability issues faced by the Earth as a whole. This course offers students a first-hand exploration of the real-world issues of food, water, waste, energy, and biodiversity on the islands of Bermuda. These issues will be investigated through readings, lectures, discussion, guided tours, and exploration of the islands' natural and cultural landscapes. Please note that while based in the same location, the course for 2020 has a different focus from the previous intersessions in Bermuda with different prerequisites.

Program Dates: Jan 5-17, 2020 Apply by October 1
