CEAFM Seminar: Takehiro Himeno
Description
Dr. Takehiro Himeno, an associate professor of Aerospace Propulsion and Engineering at the University of Tokyo, will give a talk entitled "Free-Surface Flows in Liquid Rocket Propulsion Systems" for the Center for Environmental and Applied Fluid Mechanics, hosted by Dr. Joseph Katz, a professor of Mechanical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
Abstract:
Free-surface flows are flow fields, including the boundary between two homogenous fluids, for example liquid water and the air. We are very familiar with them, but it is very difficult to explain their shapes. In this seminar, research topics will be introduced, trying to predict the dynamic behavior of free-surface flows based on experimental and numerical approach to clarify the important phenomena in the aerospace propulsion systems.
