Description

Prerequisite: Introduction to R for Absolute Beginners or some experience using R.

This workshop is designed for beginner level R users who want to learn R's data visualization capability. Johns Hopkins Data Management Services will provide an overview of some popular data visualization packages and then go into more detail for some of them including: Base R plotting, lattice, and ggplot2.

Attendees will have plenty of opportunities to do hands-on activities on their laptops and work on data sets provided by the instructors. Using these R packages, we will show attendees how to make some simple graphs, such as scatterplots, histograms, line charts, boxplots, etc. After this workshop, attendees will have the foundation to use these tools to create graphs for their own research data.
