Description

The Institute for Computational Medicine seminar features Steven Niederer, a lecturer and research fellow at King's College in London, who will deliver a talk titled "Applying cardiac modeling to study drugs, devices, and diagnosis."

In this presentation, Niederer will give an overview on modeling work simulating anthracycline-induced heart failure, how scientists use models of individual patients to study cardiac resynchronisation therapy, and how they use simulations to characterize the anatomy and pathophysiology of atrial fibrillation patients. Finally, he will present preliminary results on simulating the four-chamber heart to begin simulating the interactions between atrial and ventricular function.
