Description

Dr. Rumee Ahmed, associate professor of Islamic Law at the University of British Columbia, will lead a public dialogue and group discussion titled "Sharia Today" for the Program in Islamic Studies. This will be an engaging public dialogue, featuring small-group breakout sessions and audience participation in discussions about the past, present, and future of shariah.

Also commenting will be Dr. Farzana Haniffa, a senior lecturer of Sociology at the University of Colombo and a visiting fellow of Anthropology and South Asian Studies at the University of Cambridge, and Dr. Ryan Calder, an assistant professor of Sociology at Johns Hopkins University.
