The Johns Hopkins Energy, Resources, and Environment and the International Development Programs, in conjunction with the Alliance for a Healthier World present: Food and Water Security: A Balancing Act in the Era of Climate Change.
The event will include:
- Welcome and introduction: Dr. Jessica Fanzo, associate professor of Global Food & Agricultural Policy and Ethics at Johns Hopkins University
- Opening keynote: Dr. Ben Zaitchik, associate professor of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Johns Hopkins University, speaking on water security; and Janet Ranganathan, vice president for science and research at the World Resources Institute, speaking on food security
- Panel featuring Dr. David Reidmiller, director of the Fourth National Climate Assessment for the U.S. Global Change Research Program); Dr. Mark Rosegrant, a research fellow emeritus at the International Food Policy Research Institute; and Patty Lovera, assistant director of Food & Water Watch; moderated by Dr. Johannes Urpelainen, a professor of Energy, Resources, and Environment at Johns Hopkins University and the founding director of the Initiative for Sustainable Energy Policy.
