Description

The Center for Advanced Media Studies at Johns Hopkins University invites you to join us for an evening of accessible film and panel discussion as part of the "Films You Cannot See Anywhere Else" series. All films are shown with open captions, audio description, and assisted-listening devices. The event is co-sponsored by the Superfest Disability Film Festival, Johns Hopkins University Writing Seminars, the Graduate Representative Organization, and Johns Hopkins University Student Disability Services.

The event will consist of a screening of four short films, followed by a panel discussion with:

  • Dr. Jennifer Natalya Fink, associate professor of English at Georgetown University and author of Bhopal Dance
  • Dr. Catherine Kudlick, professor of history at San Francisco State University, director of the Longmore Institute on Disability, and staff and jury member of the Superfest Disability Film Festival
  • Dr. Bernadette Wegenstein, professor of Media Studies and director of the Center for Advanced Media Studies at Johns Hopkins University

Accessibility: Each of the films to be screened include audio description and open captions. In addition, the Parkway will also have assisted-listening devices available. Should anyone require the use of an assisted-listening device or sign-language interpretation, please give notice by March 18 through the Center for Advanced Media Studies website to ensure the event can accommodate each attendee's needs. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.
