Foreign Affairs Symposium: International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons
Description
Members of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons will speak at Hopkins as part of the annual Foreign Affairs Symposium. The organization is a global coalition of non-governmental organizations that promotes adherence to a treaty-based ban on nuclear weapons. With 532 partners in 103 countries, ICAN, the winner of 2017's Nobel Peace Prize, has led the movement against nuclear weapons through organizing public awareness campaigns and advocating for an international agreement within the United Nations.
Founded in 1997, the annual Foreign Affairs Symposium is run by students and sponsored by the university's Office of Student Development and Programming.
