Description

With Slave Streets/Free Streets, Dr. Anne Rubin, a professor of History at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, will bring early republic Baltimore (circa 1815-1820) to life. Using interactive digital maps from the Visualizing Early Baltimore project, Rubin will highlight the landscape in which approximately 4,300 enslaved and 10,300 free African Americans lived and worked.
