Mid-Atlantic Microbiome Meet-up
Description
The Mid-Atlantic Microbiome Meet-up initiative is to enable and spur interactions within the broad community of scientists interested in microbiome within the (loosely defined) Mid-Atlantic region, including academia, government, and industry participants alike. The theme for the January event is "Predictions and the Microbiome." Sign up to receive news and updates, including event location and exact times.
While large-scale sequencing has been an important driver in generating hypotheses, we still cannot predict and reproducibly perform directed modulation of most environmental and human microbiomes. Similarly, determining the relevant biotic and abiotic factors in predicting both environment conditions and disease states remains a major challenge facing microbiome researchers. Throughout this meeting, we will highlight research topics that advance the use of predictive techniques in microbiome analysis and challenge participants to identify the major barriers to applying prediction in their field of study.
Abstracts are due on Dec. 14 at midnight. See the call for papers or submit your abstract.
