Description

The Tai Chi moving mindfulness meditation and resilience training is for health-care practitioners interested in using a complementary behavioral technique to supplement their tools for resilience development. Participants will learn a distilled set of movements refined from Tai Chi designed to help with anxiety and trauma with an emphasis on PTSD. The training will be held at the Denton Cooley Center.

Participants will leave the two days of training with Tai Chi foundational principles, a full set of warm-up exercises and adaptable moving meditations, supporting video material, and a certificate of attendance. There is the opportunity for more advanced workshops in the future that build upon this material.

Teachers:

  • Dan Jones is a retired law enforcement officer and security professional and Master-level Tai Chi Chuan and Internal Gongfu instructor with more than forty-five years of experience as a martial arts practitioner.
  • Cody Weston is a resident physician in psychiatry at Johns Hopkins and has 16 years of experience in Tai Chi. He is co-founder of Humanity Against Disease.

25% of the net proceeds will benefit Humanity Against Disease, an organization committed to promoting health literacy and health promotion by bringing health professionals and communities together.
