University of Campina Brazil's Andréia H. A. Silva gives a seminar titled a seminar titled "Risk Assessment of Induced Seismicity on Built Infrastructure in Brazil."

Seismicity induced by oil and gas extraction received intense scrutiny recently, but the potential effects on buildings and contents aren't fully understood. Regions in Brazil are subject to risk of induced seismicity. The research project is a risk assessment of induced seismicity on infrastructure, including modeling the hazard as function of water-injections, estimation of building and contents vulnerability, and geographic risk analysis. The presentation will discuss the framework and preliminary results.
