Tasting Baltimore's bounty
Events-planning JHU staffers sample the wares of HopkinsLocal vendors
By Hub staff report
/ Published March 28, 2025As part of its 10th anniversary celebration this year, HopkinsLocal hosted a food vendor fair on March 26 in Homewood's Scott-Bates Commons. The four-hour taste-testing exposed Johns Hopkins employees who schedule catering for events and meetings to the smorgasbord of authorized local options.
The offerings from the 32 vendors included everything from jambalya by the Forum Caterers to West African–style stewed chicken thighs by Pantry Catering & Events, from breakfast pastries by Jay's Catering to bite-size strawberry shortcakes by Sistah's Sweets.
A second food vendor fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, at Turner Concourse on the East Baltimore campus.
