Students, faculty, and staff across Johns Hopkins now have access to a secure, Hopkins-developed suite of generative artificial intelligence tools and resources to support their research, learning, teaching, clinical work, and administrative work.
HopGPT—formerly known as the Hopkins AI Lab—provides secure access to popular AI tools ChatGPT, Claude, and Llama. Following a phased rollout over the summer, HopGPT is now available to all members of the Johns Hopkins community via JHED login.
A website has been created to support the effective and responsible use of these new tools for users of all levels, including those who are unfamiliar with this rapidly evolving space. The site offers trainings, tutorials, responsible-use guidelines, tips for using HopGPT, and links to other IT-approved AI tools, and it will be updated regularly as new trainings and resources become available.
Users are also encouraged to consult the institution's guidelines for the responsible use of GenAI, which outline enterprisewide guidance for using generative AI tools safely, ethically, and in compliance with existing policies, including the University Policy on Acceptable Use and Security of Johns Hopkins Information Technology Resources, the University Code of Conduct, and academic integrity policies.
