Johns Hopkins University students, faculty, and staff are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine and submit proof of vaccination by Friday, Nov. 21; School of Medicine affiliates follow JHM policies.
Proof of vaccination should be uploaded to the Vaccine Management System, or VMS.
Faculty and staff receiving their flu vaccination at a Hopkins on-site flu clinic will automatically have their vaccination record submitted to the VMS when they check the consent box for sharing it with the university; they do not need to take any further action. Note that it may take up to 72 hours for proof of your vaccine to appear in VMS. If your vaccine proof isn't in VMS after 72 hours, please contact your local Occupational Health clinic.
Those receiving their vaccination elsewhere can find instructions for uploading proof of vaccination on the flu campaign webpage.
The requirement for the 2025-26 academic year extends a mandate that has been in place since 2020. The mandate applies to those who are working or studying on a JHU campus; it does not apply to affiliates who are 100% remote—that is, those who never visit any Johns Hopkins facility or conduct business in any public setting on Johns Hopkins' behalf. However, if you are 100% remote, you will need to obtain a policy exception via Human Resources.
Faculty and staff can find information about clinics on the Johns Hopkins 2025-26 Flu Campaign webpage; registering ahead of time will expedite the on-site process. Student information is on the Student Health & Well-Being Primary Care webpage.
