JHU employees are being reminded that they are required to maintain their personal information, including their permanent address, in Employee Self-Service. The information should be updated in ESS as soon as possible.
Additionally, those who work in a hybrid, modified hybrid, or remote role are asked to ensure that their remote work address is accurately reflected in ESS. If you only work on-site or from your permanent address (your home address), then your ESS data is complete. If your permanent address is accurate in ESS, no further action is needed.
If, however, you have worked somewhere other than your on-site location or your permanent address for a period of three weeks or longer (15 or more consecutive business days) during the 2025 calendar year, you are asked to provide that information by sending an email to ESS@jhu.edu with the subject line "Remote work address update" and providing the following information:
- Start and end dates of remote work in 2025
- Address of remote work
+Confirmation that this location is DIFFERENT than your permanent residence
Sharing this data is important because a new remote work address may require action on the university's part regarding 2025 tax remittance and W-2 issuance.
