The university is required to have a completed I-9 form on file for all employees who have been continuously employed at JHU since Nov. 6, 1986. This form verifies an individual's eligibility to work in the United States.
The I-9 compliance team in Human Resources is currently auditing JHU files to ensure accurate records are maintained for all employees. Some employees may be contacted directly to update their documentation, a process that can be done virtually.
Current or newly hired employees, or individuals undergoing reverification, will receive instructions to upload their documentation to the online portal. The final part of the process is a 15-minute video call to present original documents to the I-9 compliance team. Instructions to schedule a call will also be shared with individuals.
