"This is delicious!" a participant exclaimed after tasting the Roasted Honeynut Squash and Chickpeas With Hot Honey recipe that Krieger School staff members had just learned to make. The group had gathered—some in person, some virtually—for a cooking class held Dec. 10 at Johns Hopkins at Keswick.

To offer the class, the KSAS Human Resources team partnered with 1876 Distinction, Johns Hopkins University's exclusive catering service. Krieger is developing initiatives such as this and Put Wellness to Work, KSAS! to provide comprehensive support for its employees.

"Krieger HR remains dedicated to fostering a healthy lifestyle and enhancing the overall employee experience by supporting employees in their efforts to maintain well-being, create lasting impacts, and improve their quality of life," says Janna Chavis, who heads up the school's HR department. "Leaders at the Krieger School recognize the importance of prioritizing well-being and its benefits to personal and professional life."

Added Julie Kuhn Sanchez, the department's employee experience specialist, "When I spoke to chef Pedro Duarte and dietitian Jacqueline Weiss and learned about the opportunity to schedule recurring cooking demos—blending engaging conversations on health and nutrition with practical learning—it immediately stood out as a chance to build community and make an impact on our employees' daily lives."
