Thursday, Oct. 31, is the last day that Johns Hopkins University employees will be able to make benefits elections for 2025. Take advantage of this once-a-year opportunity to learn what's new, revisit your current elections, and update your benefits to be sure you have the best coverage to support you and your loved ones in the year ahead.
To help you make informed enrollment decisions, you can attend a live virtual Annual Enrollment Town Hall, hosted by the Office of Benefits & Worklife, on one of the following dates:
- Wednesday, Oct. 23, 4 to 5 p.m. Register here.
- Tuesday, Oct. 29, 10 to 11 a.m. Register here.
The town hall will give you an overview of the university's 2025 benefit selections, including a new option with the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Pharmacy, enhancements to the 403(b) retirement plan, and one new voluntary benefit. Can't make the live session? Watch a recorded webinar.
There are very few changes to the university's benefits for 2025, but you may want to consider whether options you don't have now will serve you better in the coming year. With the help of ALEX, the university's interactive benefits decision-support tool, you can estimate your total yearly out-of-pocket costs and compare JHU's health plans to those of your spouse/domestic partner so that you can choose what's best for you.
You must enroll if you wish to:
- Select a different medical plan
- Participate in a health care flexible spending account (FSA), limited purpose FSA, or dependent care FSA (you must reenroll in these each year)
- Contribute to the health savings account (for those enrolled in the CareFirst BCBS high-deductible health plan)
- Apply or reapply for the child care voucher program and/or a scholarship to a JHU Partner Center
- Add or remove a dependent to any plan
- Increase your life insurance coverage
You must click "I Accept" when finished for your Annual Enrollment elections to be processed. Changes can be made through Oct. 31. The latest submission of elections will become your 2025 benefits choices, effective Jan. 1. Be sure to print a copy of your online confirmation for your records.
If you don't actively enroll, your dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits will remain in place at the same coverage level but at 2025 rates.
Go to the Benefits & Worklife website to see all the 2025 Annual Enrollment information and to access the benefits enrollment site.
