Kwang Soo Cheong, an associate professor of practice, is the new president-elect of the Korea-America Economic Association. His term as president will begin in 2024. Founded in 1985, KAEA is an academic organization with over 600 lifetime members as well as many annual members, most of whom are university professors in the U.S. and Canada. Members are mainly ethnically Korean or scholars whose research interests include Korean or East-Asian economies.
Louise Schiavone, a senior lecturer, was recognized by the National Organization of Italian American Women with its Wise Women award for 2023. The NOIAW is dedicated to the progress of women in the workplace and in our society. The group celebrates the accomplishments of Italian American women and helps advance the next generation of women, through education, mentoring, and shared cultural experiences with Americans and Italians.
