Johns Hopkins University and Medicine is once again supporting the annual Marian House Race to Embrace Independence 5K Run and Walk, which will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24. Be part of Team Hopkins to raise awareness and funds for the organization, as this is Marian House's only major fundraiser. This year's goal is to have 100 members of the Johns Hopkins community—faculty, staff, students, and family members—participating.

Marian House is a holistic, healing community for women and their children in need of housing and support services.

In addition to the Marian House T-shirt that you (and your family members, if registered with Team Hopkins) will receive as part of your registration, you'll get a Team Hopkins T-shirt to wear on race day.

The 2022 race is a hybrid format, offering both in-person and virtual options, and the route has changed as well. The course begins at Marian House, 949 Gorsuch Ave., and takes runners down 33rd Street, halfway around Lake Montebello, and back to the finish line at Marian House.

For race information and registration, visit the website for the 14th Annual Race to Embrace Independence 5K. When you hit the Register and Fundraise button on the right, click on how you want to participate (adult walk or run, etc.). Then, at the bottom, click Join or Start a Team. Scroll down to Team Hopkins and click Join. The Team Hopkins shirts are athletic style, so if you like a looser fit, order up a size.
