Memorial Day marks the official start of summer—and the annual opening of the outdoor JHMI Alumni Pool.
Open to all affiliates of Johns Hopkins and their guests, the facility on the East Baltimore campus offers dedicated lanes for lap swimming, an open area for more casual use, a large lounging area, and locker rooms.
Passes are $84 for the season (Memorial Day through Labor Day) for anyone 7 years of age and older, $36 monthly, and $8 daily. To sign up, an account must be set up through the new portal for the Denton A. Cooley Center. Pool information can be found under Health/Fitness Services.
New this year: Required time slot reservations. You can register in advance for three hours a day for the general pool area and up to one hour a day for a lap lane; the two options can be combined. Dependents and guests need to be added to the main member's portal account.
To minimize personal contact, no physical membership cards will be issued; the lifeguard will check in members and their guests.
