When Johns Hopkins' 1,600 postdoctoral fellows check out the Resources for Postdocs and Mentors page of the Office of the Provost website, they'll find a new link in the Postdoc Wellness, Benefits and Policies section. The university's mySupport program is now available to them.
The expanded employee assistance program was launched in April 2019 to provide both free resources and services for hire to university and health system faculty and staff. The phone line—443-997-7000—is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The impetus was to offer more counseling options to employees and their household and family members, who gained access to a network of 60,000 providers located across the country and televideo options as well as access to Johns Hopkins' own clinical team members.
Also available through mySupport are referrals for child care and elder care, recommendations for convenience services such as home cleaning and lawn care, and legal and financial guidance.
The provost's Resources for Postdocs webpage provides a gateway to valuable information available throughout the university. It's broken down into four major components:
