School of Nursing faculty members honored

Teresa Brockie, Deborah Gross, and Jennifer Peterson recognized for contributions to their fields

Teresa Brockie, an assistant professor, has received the American Academy of Nursing Brilliant Nurse Investigator Award, which recognizes the contributions of scientists early in their research careers who show extraordinary potential to develop sustained programs of research that are certain to have a significant impact on the science and practice of nursing.

Deborah Gross, a professor, was named one of Greater Baltimore's top nurses of 2020 by Baltimore magazine in the category of Research. This year's honor, which is based on the magazine's Excellence in Nursing survey, salutes the R.N. heroes of health care. The 67 nurses chosen include six JHSON alumni in addition to Gross.

Jennifer Peterson, an assistant professor, will be inducted as a fellow of the American Heart Association, which recognizes her scientific and professional accomplishments, volunteer leadership, and service.
