Conservatory faculty in the news

Marin Alsop, director of the Graduate Conducting Program, was featured on NPR on April 18, speaking about stepping down as music director of the Baltimore Symphony and the swing ensemble she performed in for 20 years.

Recording Arts faculty artist Wendel Patrick co-hosted, performed in, and was interviewed on episodes 820 and 821 of Maryland Public Television's newly revamped Artworks show in March.

Kip Wile, a music theory professor, has been elected president of the Music Theory Society of the Mid-Atlantic, and Jenine Brown, an assistant professor of music theory, has been elected secretary. The society promotes the development of and engagement with music theory as a scholarly and pedagogical discipline.
