Three Grammy wins and praise abroad for a female composer

Du Yun, a Composition professor, was featured in the British radio station Classic FM's list of 10 moments in the past decade that altered the course of classical music history. She was cited for winning the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 2017, when, for the first time in this prize's history, all three finalists were women. She also was featured by Rolling Stone Italia in its story called "Decade of Women Composers."

Elizabeth Futral, a Voice faculty artist, appears on the cast album of Tobias Picker: Fantastic Mr. Fox, which won the 2019 Grammy for Best Opera Recording. Esperanza Spalding's album 12 Little Spells, featuring guitarist Matthew Stevens, a faculty artist in the Jazz Department, also won a Grammy.
