Faculty members are invited to be a part of the universitywide Commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 23, at Baltimore's Royal Farms Arena. In order to participate, you must RSVP online by April 12.
"Commencement is an important rite of passage for Johns Hopkins students and a celebratory day for the entire university community," Provost Sunil Kumar said in a message to faculty. "President Daniels and I join all the deans and directors in encouraging faculty to participate in the Commencement procession."
On the day of the ceremony, faculty members will meet between 12:30 and 1 p.m. in Room 109 on the lower level of the arena, located at 201 W. Baltimore St., to robe and form the procession. The procession begins at 1:30 p.m., and the ceremony should end at approximately 5:30 p.m. If you need to rent regalia, the deadlines are approaching, and you should contact your school representative.
Paid parking near the arena is limited, so participants are encouraged to take public transportation, Lyft, Uber, taxi, or a special Commencement shuttle from the Homewood campus to the arena. More information is on the Commencement website.
For information on participating in your school-specific ceremony, you should contact your school directly.
