The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory and IT@JH are among the large organizations named Best Places to Work in IT 2018 by IDG's Computerworld. APL is No. 16 on the list, and IT@JH—cited for its role for Johns Hopkins Medicine—is No. 30.
For the past 25 years, the magazine has annually named 100 companies and institutions that it considers top work environments for technology professionals. The list is compiled from a questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, training, and retention. In addition, Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT workers, and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings.
