Robin Sinn, science liaison librarian, has been appointed coordinator of the Office of Scholarly Communication. In this newly created position, she will lead education and outreach efforts to provide guidance and answer questions from faculty and students about the university's Open Access Policy, which goes into effect July 1.

She will continue to serve as a member of the Open Access Committee, co-chaired by Winston Tabb, Sheridan Dean of University Libraries and Museums, and Denis Wirtz, vice provost for research; and of the JHU Libraries Scholarly Communications Group, which she has chaired since 2010.

More from the Sheridan Libraries

Liz Johns, learning design and technologies librarian, and Sara Oestreich, a librarian at JHU's Montgomery County Campus, presented a paper titled "On the Edge: How to Provide Course and Program-Integrated Library Support Without Being Embedded" at the Distance Library Services Conference, held April 11-13 in San Antonio. Johns, together with Carrie Price, a clinical informationist at Welch Medical Library, also presented a paper, "Where in the World Is My Librarian? Creating Cross-Campus Collaborations to Seamlessly Connect With Students When Librarians, Students, and Faculty Are in Different Locations." The paper was co-authored by Toni Ungaretti, director of the Master of Education in the Health Professions program and assistant professor in the School of Education. The biennial international conference is a forum to discuss, demonstrate, and champion the techniques, trends, and theories of providing library services at a distance and in the online environment.
