Ready to run? And have fun? Johns Hopkins is hosting the Baltimore segment of the 2017 Corporate FunRun, a series of events that will take place up and down the East Coast.

More than 1,000 companies and more than 12,000 team members are expected to participate in the 18 events scheduled for this year. Get your Johns Hopkins department involved as a team bonding event or to promote fitness—and to compete against other Hopkins departments and local businesses.

The Charm City segment is scheduled for 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, at Homewood Field. The race start will be outside the stadium, with the 5k course consisting of one loop around the campus, including on the new Hackerman Way pathway and bridge, and the finish will be inside Homewood stadium, at the 50 yard line.

Funds raised will support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Registration is open now for what the organizers have dubbed "the summer's best office party," and Johns Hopkins departments and offices are encouraged to corral their runners to participate. Walkers are welcome as well.

"This is a great team bonding event, and a way for all of Hopkins' communities to come together in an event to promote fitness at the workplace, support a great charity, and, of course, have some great food and beer afterward to enjoy ourselves," says Bobby Van Allen, head coach of the JHU Track and Field and Cross Country teams.

The $40 registration fee includes entry into the race, a T-shirt, and unlimited beer. The deadline for registering online is Thursday, June 1.
