If a piano is on your wish list, now is the time to take the next step.
A public sale of fine pianos used at the Peabody Institute is set for Saturday, Aug. 13, and Johns Hopkins employees have the opportunity to purchase one of the instruments in advance. Appointments can be made for Thursday and Friday, Aug. 11 and 12, when the best selection and pricing will be available.
New Yamaha pianos have been on loan to Peabody as part of a special arrangement with the Yamaha Corp. and with support from Menchey Music Service in Baltimore. The selection includes baby grands, uprights, consoles, Yamaha Clavinovas (digital pianos), and Yamaha Disklaviers (interactive player pianos). Most are less than 1 year old, have been meticulously maintained, and come with full manufacturer warranties.
Special arrangements have been made for financing, delivery, and warranty service through Menchey Music Service. According to Peabody, this will be the last Yamaha sales event that Menchey will be coordinating on the school's campus.
To make an appointment for Aug. 11 or 12, or for more information, employees should call 866-742-6673.
The Aug. 13 public sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Peabody campus (enter at 21 E. Mount Vernon Place).
