Faculty and staff are invited to a special presentation featuring expert negotiator and New York Times best-selling author Ron Shapiro as he introduces the key principles of effective negotiations that he lays out in his book The Power of Nice: How to Negotiate so Everyone Wins—Especially You!
Shapiro will explain the philosophical underpinnings of win-win negotiations and introduce his systematic approach to negotiation and influencing that he calls the Three Ps: Prepare, Probe, Propose.
The brown bag event, presented by Learning Solutions, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, in Hurd Hall on the East Baltimore campus. Click here to register.
Two sessions of a two-hour related workshop called Developing the Tools to Practice the Power of Nice will be held the same day. These workshops will be facilitated by Jeffrey Cochran, a master facilitator for the Shapiro Negotiations Institute. The first is at 1 p.m., the second at 3:30 p.m.
