The Alexander Grass Humanities Institute and the Sheridan Libraries are delighted to announce the creation of a new Graduate Student Summer Fellowship Program. Beginning in July 2026, AGHI and the Sheridan Libraries will offer two paid, six-week fellowships aimed at providing in-depth exposure to the libraries and their special collections.
Fellows will pursue one of two tracks:
Rotational Fellowships under the direction of Mack Zalin: Fellows will engage with the various aspects of scholar librarianship, including collection development, reference, instruction, cataloging, digital humanities, and service to the profession.
Special Collections Curatorial Fellowships under the direction of Earle Havens: Fellows will work with pre-1800 rare books and manuscripts at the Stern Center for the History of the Book on a project tailored to their academic and research interests. Each Fellow will prepare an overview description of a collection of rare materials around a specific theme as well as 10 brief public-facing essays, accompanied by digital images, which will be posted on the Stern Center website. Examples of such essays can be found at this link.
