Paid tuberculosis study volunteers needed

The Johns Hopkins Center for Immunization Research is recruiting for a tuberculosis prevention study involving the investigational BCG vaccine. This study aims to determine whether receiving the BCG vaccine before travel to TB-endemic regions can help protect individuals from developing TB illness.

Seeking healthcare or public health workers between 18 and 65, planning travel in a TB-endemic country for 10 days to 6 months. The study includes:

  • A screening visit
  • A vaccination visit
  • Two follow-up visits (one before and one after travel). Additional follow-up visits may be required if TB exposure is detected.

Compensation will be provided for study visits completed (about $150/completed study visit). For more information, contact TIPI@jh.edu, call 336-660-9392, or visit https://centerforimmunizationresearch.org/join-a-cir-study.
